About

Built in South Africa, for the documents South Africa signs.

KuduDoc is an e-signature platform with a second job: making sure a signed document can still be proved years later — by anyone, free, and without taking our word for it.

Why we exist

A signed PDF is just a file. Anyone can quietly change it.

Sign a lease, email the PDF, file it away. Two years later there's a dispute, and someone produces a copy where one number reads differently. Both files open. Both look identical. Neither carries anything that says which one is the original.

At that point proving the truth stops being a document problem and becomes a legal one — attorneys, forensic reports, affidavits, months. The cost of proving a document lands hardest on whoever can least afford it.

That whole problem is avoidable with mathematics that already exists. A certification signature, a SHA-256 fingerprint and an independent timestamp, applied the moment signing completes, turn trust me into check it yourself. So we built the checking part first, and gave it away.

See exactly how the three proofs work

What we believe

Three positions we're not planning to negotiate.

They're the reason the product is shaped the way it is — and the reason some of it is free.

Proof shouldn't depend on the vendor

The strongest thing we can build is proof that survives us. Every completed document carries a SHA-256 fingerprint and an OpenTimestamps anchor that anyone can check with free, open-source tools — no KuduDoc account, no KuduDoc servers, no permission from us.

Honesty beats badges

We publish what we don't claim. Our certification signature is self-signed today, so Adobe shows "validity unknown" — we say that on our own security page rather than hope you never open the file in Acrobat. When it changes, we'll update the page the day it's true, not before.

Priced in rand, for local reality

R79 a month, not $40 a seat. A free plan that genuinely sends documents instead of a trial with a countdown on it. And identity-check pricing printed on the pricing page, per check, rather than hidden behind a sales call.

The plan

What we're building, in order.

Signing is the commodity. Proof is the product. Control is the part almost nobody in e-signature competes on.

01 · Signing

Get it signed

Send it, place the fields, collect ordinary electronic signatures — the kind the ECT Act recognises. Multi-party, ordered, on any device. Wills, sales of land and leases over 20 years still have to be signed in ink, and no platform changes that. Table stakes — and it has to be excellent.

02 · Proof

Prove it later

A certification signature, a SHA-256 fingerprint and an OpenTimestamps anchor on every completed document. Free to verify, by anyone, forever — no account needed.

03 · Control

Hold the only original

A registry that records who holds exclusive control of a document, and transfers it atomically. Holding a copy of a PDF transfers nothing. This is a legal category, not a feature.

04 · Forms

Collect it in the first place

Form to document to signature to proof, as one pipeline rather than three purchases. Parts of this are live today; conditional logic and payment collection are still in build.

Anything on this page marked "in build" is exactly that — not shipped. The feature catalog marks every roadmap item the same way.

Facts, not figures

Four numbers we can actually stand behind.

We don't publish user counts, signature volumes or a logo wall. When those numbers are real and sourced, they'll appear here. Until then, these are the ones you can check yourself.

3

Independent proofs on every completed document — certification signature, SHA-256 fingerprint, OpenTimestamps anchor.

R0

What it costs anyone to verify a KuduDoc document at /verify. No account, no plan, no expiry.

What we don't claim — and we keep the list public.

No customer counts. No client logo wall. No ISO 27001, SOC 2 or GDPR certification. No "bank-level security" — a phrase with no standard behind it. And no Adobe-trusted checkmark yet, because our certification signature is still self-signed, which means readers show "validity unknown" even though the tamper-evidence itself works perfectly.

Every number on this site is either independently checkable — a fingerprint, a timestamp, a published rate card — or it simply isn't published. That rule costs us some marketing copy. We think it buys something better.

Don't take our word for it. That's the whole point.
