Everything KuduDoc does

Everything KuduDoc does

One document.
Everything it runs into.

Every KuduDoc feature on one wall. Each tile opens the page that explains it; the list below says what each one does.

Vault Set up recovery first: if you lose both the Vault passphrase and the recovery key, nobody can recover what is inside.

Ask Answers point to the page they came from. Read it before you rely on an answer.

KuduDoc features, one line each

What does KuduDoc do? It signs, seals, keeps, watches, answers questions about and shares the documents you hold, and lets anyone check a sealed file for free, without an account. Below, every part, grouped by what it does. How KuduDoc works, step by step

Keep

One Library for work and for life.

  • CollectionsKeep a record with the papers that explain it: the lease beside its deposit receipt.
  • TagsOne label across records in different collections.
  • Smart rulesRules that file new records into the right collection.
  • Email-inForward a document to your own KuduDoc address. New senders wait for your approval.
  • Request a documentSend someone a request link. Their upload lands in your Library.
  • Phone uploadPhotograph the pages; they arrive as one PDF.
  • PacksA checklist of company records, kept together for the next request.

Prepare

Start from a template or a form, not a blank page.

  • TemplatesSouth African agreements, letters and consent forms, in English or Afrikaans.Professional and Business
  • FormsOne link: your client answers, uploads the documents you ask for, then signs.Professional and Business
  • School consent and indemnity formsOne form to the whole class, and a list of who is still outstanding.Business
  • Official formsSBD forms, B-BBEE affidavits and licence renewal forms, filled from details you enter once.
  • A will, printed for inkAnswer plain questions, print the will, and sign it in ink with two witnesses present.

Sign

Everyone signs from a link on their own device.

  • Ordinary electronic signatures and the ECT ActKuduDoc signatures are ordinary electronic signatures, recognised under the ECT Act for ordinary documents.

  • Sign a PDF, freeSign a PDF yourself, free on every plan. The PDF stays on your device.
  • Commissioner of oathsPrint an everyday affidavit, swear it in person before a commissioner, and keep a sealed scan.
  • Which documents still need ink?KuduDoc checks each document before it is sent and won't send one it recognises as a will, a sale or other alienation of land, a lease of land over 20 years, or a bill of exchange or cheque — sign those in ink; you can still seal the scan.

Seal and check

The finished file gets a point of reference anyone can check.

  • FingerprintA SHA-256 fingerprint of the exact bytes, taken when the last signature lands.
  • Certification signatureA certification signature and a certificate page on the finished PDF.
  • Timestamp anchorThe time of sealing, anchored with OpenTimestamps.
  • Seal id (kdid)The public seal id, on the certificate page and in the file’s metadata.
  • QR check linkA QR code on the sealed PDF takes a recipient straight to the checker.
  • Public checkAnyone can check a sealed file.Free, no account
  • PDF signature checkerCheck the signatures in any PDF: what changed since each one, the certificate and its issuer.
  • Timestamp a fileTimestamp any file. Only its fingerprint leaves your device.
  • Forensic packThe owner can export the audit rows and signer details as a ZIP.
  • Activity recordSent, opened, signed and sealed, in a hash-chained record.

Watch

The next date stays in sight.

  • Expiry datesEvery record can carry its dates: renewal, expiry, return by.
  • Suggested datesKuduDoc reads the dates off the document and suggests them. You confirm.
  • Expiry reminders90, 60, 30 and 7 days before, by default — or the days you choose — outside your quiet hours.
  • Lease registerEvery lease with its dates worked out: notice, inspections and the deposit refund.
